I had another great chance to go out and shoot a few kitchens for the mag today. I really enjoyed this kitchen as it had some character. Not really sure what will happen from here but I liked this angle alot. It is getting late so this one is hot off the card, no edits. By the way, if the color looks off let me know, this old PC monitor I am using just is not as nice as the Mac laptop I had.

Trina's Favorite
As we were cleaning out some of our files we came across the disc of photos that had Trina's bridals on it and wanted to share some of them with you. This particular one is Trina's favorite from that night. This was taken in Febuary of 2004 (before, I had ever heard of Strobist) and I was glad to see that I was using off camera flash.
Enjoy!

Courtney and Jess Wedding
I was so excited to find these photos of our good friends Courtney and Jess. This wedding was actually shot in May 2005 ( I am a little slow at posting :( ) This wedding reception was at the Bay Shore Clubhouse in Anchorage, AK. We had a great time and I was grateful to them for letting me be a part of their wedding experience. There is something special about this moment in life, take a look at how excited everyone is! If you want to see more photos you can find them here.

Trina's Bridal
I wanted to share a photo I took of Trina for her Bridal's. To be honest I had forgotten that I had this photo in a digital format. I was really excited to find this and to share this with you. I hope you enjoy! You can see some more here.

Bad Equilibrium
I did a shoot the other day for Alaska's Best Kitchens Magazine and had a great time. Of all the photos, I like this one the best. I think the reason for that is it's not your normal everyday shot of a kitchen. I took one of those and you can see it here if you would like. I have been asking myself how I can create kitchen photos that are different from the norm. Not sure if this would fall in that category or not, but I liked it.

Dead Hard Drive

I have been so spoiled the past two years to have been using this neat little Mac Laptop from work. I have become totally addicted to the OS X platform. There is something different about the "feel" of a Mac compared to a PC. I haven't really found much of a difference in what I use them for other than the ease of use and the smooth feeling with the Mac. The last few months my little Powerbook G4 has been running slower and slower until last week it finally just stopped doing anything at all. I took it in to work and had them look at it and to my much dismay, the Hard Drive is dead. It is amazing what a wrench this can put in your life (especially when this computer IS my life). So here I am, back on our old PC and really quite sad about the whole thing. My wife also has one of these machines but to be honest I am scared to use it and jinx that one to. Anyways, I guess I will stop my whinning and move on. I just wanted to explain why I have not posted anything in a little while. I hope to be back online soon and posting photos.

Wood Fired Hot Tub
When it is -24 F in Alaska the only thing one can do outside is sit a old fashioned wood hot tub that is heated to around 100 F. It's a strange feeling to run your hands through your hair and feel it completely frozen in whatever crazy spot you left it after dunking your head under warranty to warm up your face. Only in AK.

Movie Time
Is it really that bad to let your child sit in front of movie? I mean c'mon they are bouncing off the walls all day long, driving everyone crazy. What is it going to hurt to have them sit and focus on one thing for a couple of hours a day. I am a big fan of doing this as are my children. They love to watch movies. Maybe because it is always dark up here in Alaska, I don't know. Anyway, I really like the expression on Sydney's face as she watched a movie on dad's laptop.

Christmas Portrait
We finally had the chance to get a photo of the two of us. I was able to work on getting the lighting set up and then we had Brandy help us take the picture.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Years!!
